The “abortion problem” and children

There is a problem area in terms of rights. This problem area is composed of the first stages of maturation of the indivudual, namely the foetal stage and the childhood stage. Two main issues are related to them – abortion and children rights. But since abortion is simply an inquiry on the rights of a foetus, we can therefore reduce the problem to one field of inquiry, that is, rights.

What rights should children have ? It is a fact that they belong to the category of human beings. However that is not the point. …

Pro-life is anti-freedom

Abortion is one of the big controversial issues in politics today – the main reason seems to be because of the Religious Right. According to the christian position, women should not have control of their bodies enough to be able to remove a foetus from it.

And yet this is an absurd position, on the face of it. No one complains when people have organs removed (although their trade is still illegal, once again because of religious precepts). Foetuses in themselves are merely bags of cells. We don’t call to murder against hunters or plastic surgery, therefore …

We are not our brothers’ keepers

When discussing world politics, a sense of perspective is needed. While our North American and European countries seem to be rather average in our eyes, they are, for the most part, the richest and freest countries in the world. Almost all the countries in other regions lie below the 10 000 $ line of GDP per capita, which is far below what we, in our great arrogance, consider “the poverty line”.

Who is to blame for this state of affairs, if anyone ? The universal answer seems to be “the rich countries”, and “corporate …

PC Primer

PC stands for Politically Correct. We of the Politically Correct philosophy believe in increasing a tolerance for a DIVERSITY of cultures, races, genders, ideology and alternate lifestyles. Political Correctness is the only social and morally acceptable outlook. Anyone who disagrees with this philosophy is bigoted, biased, sexist, and/or closed-minded.

Being PC is fun. PCism is not just an attitude, it is a way of life! PC offers the satisfaction of knowing that you are undoing the social evils of centuries of oppression.

Has Libertarianism fallen ?

Libertarianism is awfully unpopular. While this has no bearing on its truth or falsity, it does have a lot of bearing on its real-life applications. Any attention that it gets as a political option is tainted with the idea that IT’S SO MARGINAL, which makes it easy to objectify it.

So when a famous professor of political economy, Francis Fukuyama, writes an article called “The Fall of the Libertarians” in the Wall Street Journal on May 2nd, declaring that libertarianism is on its way out, people listen.

“Libertarianism”, Fukuyama declares, is a “radical dogma whose limitations …

The Real Constitution Discovered in Parallel Universe

The startling document reproduced below came my way from an unregistered, and indeed non-existent, source called Angelcynn.warp. I can only guess that it drifted in over the ether from a parallel universe, where things are exactly the same as in this one, with the exception that in this other universe a form of constitutional honesty prevails.

We the people of the nearly Perfected Millennial State, large and containing multitudes, unified only by a common dedication to abstract propositions – the most important of which is that All Men Are Created Equal – do …

The Objectivist pledge of allegiance

I robotically mouth the words to a loyalty oath I was forced to memorize during government-sponsored childhood indoctrination out of fear of being ostracized to a multi-colored cloth representing a conglomeration of territories acquired through warfare and genocide and to the corporate plutocracy for which it stands,
one arbitrarily bordered land mass occupied by racially diverse people ruled by an entrenched white elite under a mythical being with supernatural powers believed in by humans in order to ease the fear that they are insignificant specks hurdling toward eternal oblivion in a cold, uncaring universe,
